Can I make a request of you, please?
If you’re a leader, if you manage a team – could you give some thought to how you could develop them together?
I firmly believe in the power of coaching – both 1:1 and at a whole team level. Well, I would say that, wouldn’t I . . . I’m a professional coach.
But honestly?
The results I see from whole teams working together when facilitated in a coaching style?
They’re phenomenal.
I know you’re short of time, and you’ve got lots on your plate, so I’ll bullet-point you a quick story . . .
- I’m privileged to currently work with 3 senior leadership teams in my own organisation
- They’re already amazing professionals in the work that they do individually, daily, but wow, when I see them as a whole, their power and strength seems unstoppable
- I’m not sure they realise just how brilliant they are – probably because they each have that modesty gene in abundance – but I know that the work they do when they come together is enhanced because they allow themselves to be honest with each other, to share experiences, and to give better and better feedback
- This couldn’t be further from a more traditional, formal, teaching/learning experience
- It’s about facilitation, feeding back, sharing and honesty
