A quick post on one of my favourite themes . . .

 

A friend managed to catch her new boss by telephone after a few attempts at trying.

She said: “Nice to talk to you at last.”  (And she meant it, with the good heart that she has.)

He heard: “Oh, so you’ve finally decided to take my call and consider me important enough to find some time for me have you?” and spent the first 5 minutes of the telephone call apologising for not having been available to her sooner.

 

We were both left wondering, my friend and I, what got in the way of a simple, heartfelt message.
