Psychologist Dr Martin Seligman suggests that approximately 40% of your subjective wellbeing (how happy you feel) is influenced by what you do daily.
(And if you were wondering, 50% is down to your genes, and 10% down to circumstances – neither of which you can do much about.)
So, how can we raise our happiness levels?
Apparently it’s simply by changing the things we do.
And if you’re still with me, and feeling positive and more than a little curious, here are some activities you might try . . .
- Set realistic goals
- Enjoy today
- Enjoy what you do
- Do what you enjoy
- Spend time with people
And my favourite . . .
- Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling when you’re feeling good.
