There is no hidden deep meaning in this blog. Really. In fact, no deep meaning at all. Its provenance was a far from lofty experience – me popping up to the corner shop on a Sunday morning to purchase some much-needed sustenance for my beloved after his rather heavy/previous day and night out watching international rugby. OK, maybe a little bit of loftiness – my early morning foray was in truth bordering on near saint-like status. The things I do for love! But, I digress.
The story.
On coming out of the shop I observed 3 men pushing a car for a stranded driver. The car definitely wasn’t firing on all cylinders – any cylinders in fact. It took only a minute or less for our knights of the road to steer their car into a safe space, and they did it swiftly, fairly easily and with good grace and humour.
A simple story, yes. But simple acts of kindness should never be underestimated or unappreciated.
It did my heart good. Happy Sunday.
