Learning to say no . . .

” . . . the next time you are asked to take on a new activity or responsibility, take the time to decide whether or not you want to do it.  Avoid the . . . response of “I can’t do it,” which may be a cover for “I don’t want to do it.” If you have trouble deciding what to do, here are some important questions to ask:

  • How important is it that I do this?
  • What is likely to happen if I don’t?
  • What will I have to give up if I accept it?”
