I’ve been reflecting on how we deal with change, and how to support others who are sceptics – those who display a complacent resistance to change, reminiscing fondly over a bygone era; a we’ve been here before attitude, based perhaps on an espoused reality of previous success.
In a work context, change is often perceived only as an external process, the thing that’s done to us by others (with a huge range of now all too familiar external drivers like funding, restructures and changes in legislation).
But it’s how we transition through change, how we make that mental and emotional transformation, that allows us to move towards acceptance, or to closure, where new possibilities and new backgrounds can exist.
