Alison Green’s “Ask a manager” blog receives 50+ questions a day, and 2 million visitors a month.  Ms Green says she drew her inspiration for writing the column from Carolyn Hax, a Washington Post advice columnist:

“What she had done for me is really drill in my head that you have to confront the reality of your situation, not what you wish your situation were.”

Pretty good advice if you ask me.
