I was in London for a conference. I rang home.

Me: it’s so nice here in (insert borough of London name), shall we come here together for a couple of days in the summer?

Him: sounds a bit expensive

Me: no it’s not; I can get first class return rail fare for £x and accommodation for £x

Him: I’m not sure; do we need to book it tonight?

Me: well no, but they’re great prices

Him: let’s talk about it when you come home; we can discuss it better then

Me: brrrrrrrrr (sound of phone being hung up)
