Are you the leader you want to be?

Emily Douglas cites “9 bad habits leaders need to quit” (October 2017).

These destructive practices, listed in no particular order, are:

  • Micromanaging
  • Ignoring feedback
  • Taking all the credit
  • Outdated appraisal systems
  • Not taking risks
  • Self-doubt
  • Condescending behaviour
  • Being a tyrant
  • Not praising your staff

Try this.

Consider the list.  Then choose one that you’re guilty of.  What can you do about it tomorrow?

And if you’re not a leader, which item might you speak to your own leader about … and by doing so, help them to get better?
