I know there’s more to life than elephants, and Panglossian images of what could be, but doesn’t this lovely quote by Diana Sheldrick ring true?  I recently heard the sound bite where she spoke it … and her words became all the more poignant through hearing the passion and sincerity with which she spoke …

“To be a baby elephant must be wonderful. Surrounded by a loving family 24 hours a day … I think it must be how it ought to be, in a perfect world.”

I’m not sure that my world’s perfect, but I do have the love of the most amazing family, friends and colleagues who help it to nudge, day by day, one wonderful personal exchange after the other, somewhere towards getting there.
