In Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan, the road signs might just take you by surprise:
- “Life is a journey! Complete it!”
- “Let nature be your guide”
- “Inconvenience regretted”
These life-affirming mantras are probably to be expected in a country which rejects GDP as the only way to measure progress, and instead proposes a new measurement: GNH – gross national happiness.
Uplifting.
I’m going to be thinking about that on my drive into work tomorrow.
