Richard Flint of Sky Betting & Gaming was crowned as the highest-rated chief executive in the UK for his leadership. He’s led his company of 1200 staff for almost 20 years. Here’s what he says it takes to be a good boss:
“The biggest misconception is that as a boss and leader you have to have all the answers and be ‘the smartest person in the room’ on any particular topic. You can’t be, and if you try to be then you won’t get the best out of your team and people, and this is really the most important thing.”
He added that his style is all about a “supportive and collaborative” environment —something that requires “empathy, humility, and honesty.”
How wonderful that his employees noticed.
