Actress Glenn Close has referred to herself in interviews as a “late bloomer.”

I haven’t done the research to establish exactly what she means by this, but taking it at face value, it does give me hope and encouragement for my own status … a lifelong learner who has over the last decade or so found coaching to be her raison d’être. And it’s a good feeling, knowing what you want and working every day at something you love.

Late bloomer, slow starter, self-doubter, imposter, unsure, confused … I’ve worked through all these notions to come to a good place where I’m comfortable in my own skin. Yet there is still a thirst within me which screams more, go on, not ready to give up …

Not knowing what’s around the corner for us late bloomers is a pretty exciting thought.
