I heard British designer Thomas Heatherwick talking about the new, highly-lauded public space he’s created from joining together two industrial, Victorian coal sheds in King’s Cross, London, now with an atrium that has been described as one of the best in the world.  He called it “a provision for togetherness” which has a soulfulness and the confidence to be idiosyncratic.

What a lovely way of thinking about the benefit that public spaces can bring.  And also a reminder of the usefulness of connecting with others?
