I listened to a much-admired colleague, and organisational planning expert, field questions on strategy. This one stuck:
Q How do you engage the laggards?
A: Don’t spend all your time on them. You have to understand what they’re concerned with, but …. focus your effort on energy in the people who will make the change happen.
A clear message for how to deal with the ne’er sayers and resigned resistors – the that’ll never work/we’ve always done it like that so we must always continue to do it like that crowd. I like that plan.
