Asked about his all-time favourite gig, Sir Elton John cited:
“The night John Lennon came on stage with me in Madison Square Garden … I get goosebumps about it.”
The 1974 show was Lennon’s last major concert appearance. Sir Elton played piano while John Lennon sang Whatever Gets You Thru the Night, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and I Saw Her Standing There.
Now who wouldn’t have loved to have been at that concert? Not least of all, it seems, Sir Elton.
No matter how high up the ladder we climb, it seems there can always be at least a rung further up to aim for.
