Don’t be daft . . .

BBC Home Editor Mark Easton writes a truly wonderful piece on why quiet is good for us: Why August’s ‘silly season’ is good for the soul.

Before you say goodbye to August 2018, it might be worth a read, perhaps with the aim of capturing the spirit of this silliest of months to extend into others.  I know I’ll be doing that.

And the most delicious thought I’m going to take away from Mr Easton’s article?  A notion of Radio 4 listeners the world over uniting in a moment of mindulness at 18:00 each day, just before the chimes of Big Ben.  A twinkling of calm in an otherwise frantic day.

Not at all silly.
