Dr James Gill, a GP and researcher at Warwick Medical School suggests that setting arbitrary goals like losing weight or going to the gym are often difficult. Furthermore, that it’s demoralising trying to achieve them and failing.
Instead, we should focus on something that seems a little more achievable:
trying to be happier.
And how to do this? First, make a change in your life that will make you smile more often; next, identify one thing that makes you unhappy and try to do something to improve it.
Dr James says, “Get those two in the bag, and you’ll be ready to look to other things to really give your health a boost further into the year.”
