Owning up . . .

I was sitting in a cafe, working. In my peripheral vision I noticed a customer come to the counter and ask the server behind it a question. I wasn’t paying that much attention, simply getting on with my work.

But as the customer moved away from the counter, I heard the server say, “I’m so sorry, I’ve just realised that my answer wasn’t very helpful.”

It’s a real strength to own up to your failings. And I bet that comment made that customer’s day.
